These positive and adjustable chokes are designed to reliably control the flow of wellbore fluids into production tubing. They meet the requirements for high performance service in general applications such as wellheads, manifolds, or process equipment. Typical uses include wells with high pressure drop, well testing and well cleanup. Chokes are available from 1 13/16" through 4 1/16" nominal flange size and pressure ratings to 15,000 psi. Special material grades can be utilized where highly corrosive or abrasive fluids are anticipated in the wellbore.

The positive choke is typically used to restrict well flow at an established rate. The choke bean is made of tungsten carbide or ceramic materials for long service life and resistance to wear. Beans are available in all sizes and can be easily replaced in the field.
Adjustable Choke Adjustable chokes are used where raped changes in the flow rate are required. Typical uses would be cleaning or flow testing a well. The rotating stem slides into a tapered seat adjusting the flow rate. An indicator reads orifice size in 1/14" increments. |
