Flowline Pressure Operated (FPO) Surface Safety Valve System

The Flowline Pressure Operated Surface Safety Valve System is used in conditions where normal actuator opening power sources are not available (i.e. instrument air, electricity, hydraulic fluid, etc.). The system utilizes flowline pressure as the surface safety valve opening power source by tapping into the upstream gate valve flange allowing a controlled flow of pressure to the actuator and pressure sensing pilots.

The surface safety valve will remain in the open position provided flowline pressure remains within predetermined pilot set points. When a high or low pilot pressure set point is met, that pilot will automatically close the surface safety valve by venting the actuator hold open pressure. The surface safety valve will remain closed until the high or low pressure condition is corrected allowing the surface safety valve to be manually opened.

Available for gate valve sizes 2 thru 6 API and working pressures thru 5000 psi API.  Utilizes existing Well / Flowline pressure for control power source.

Reduces system monitoring Pressure sensing pilots and components are bracketed to actuator for easy access during calibration and maintenance requirements.

Use of velocity check to insure shut-off of control pressure to the system during shut down cycle.

Wellhead Inc Flowline Pressure Operated Surface Safety Valve System complies with NACE MR01-75 requirements.

Wellhead Inc Flowline Pressure Operated Surface Safety Valve System is  API 6A (6A- 0094) licensed.

High and Low Pressure Pilots are rated to 10,000 psi sensed and control pressure. Variation of springs and pistons allow field conversion of High and Low pressure pilots to various pressure ranges.
