WS Casing Hangers

WS-4 Backup Seal & Casing Hanger

WS casing hangers are a standard wrap-around slip type for use with all WS profile casing heads. Hanger assemblies are preassembled and supported by heavy duty hinge mechanisms which allow hangers to be attached and lowered through the BOP. Standard sizes are available for nominal flanges to 13 5/8" and for casing from 4 1/2" to 10 3/4".

WS-4 Casing Hanger

The WS-4 casing hanger is designed for general service where control of annulus pressure in the casing head bowl is not critical. This simplified single component configuration allows for economical manufacturing and insures ease of installation and operation.

Sharp hardened inner teeth support suspended casing weight up to 60% of the pipe body yield strength. A minimum weight of only 5000 lbs. is required to initiate hanger operation.

WS-4 Primary Seal

The WS-4 primary seal may be used in conjunction with the WS-4 casing hanger to add annulus sealing capabilities. Self energizing O-ring seals isolate pressure at the casing wall and casing head bore providing positive sealing to 5000 psi.

WS-8 Backup Seal & Casing Hanger

WS-8 Casing Hanger

The WS-8 casing hanger is designed for critical service where well control throughout completion operations is essential. The integral sealing element is automatically energized with release of the casing weight. When light casing loads or changes in operating conditions dictate the seal may be re-energized manually after removal of the BOP.

The type WS-8 casing hanger is capable of supporting 70% of the pipe body yield strength. Pressure rating for 9" and 11" nominal flange size is 5000 psi. The 13 5/8" size is limited to 3000 psi unless used in conjunction with the WS-8 backup seal.

WS-8 Backup Seal

The WS-8 backup seal may be used in conjunction with the WS-8 casing hanger to enhance annulus sealing capabilities and reduce wellhead body hoop stresses due to hydrostatic seal tests. Self energizing O-ring seals isolate pressure at the casing wall and casing head bore.
